Our web design team is certainly capable of putting together something more cutting-edge. One teaches Flash at a major university while the other's work continues to receive award after award. However, when considering the needs of the visually disabled we decided to go for something simpler so they could easily navigate the site. Meeting the regulations for a disability-friendly website is not easy. Many web designers are not up to the task and it requires extra time and investment.
Some people ask why we don't think of the majority and instead make a less interesting website for the sake of a minority.
Don't you think that those with disabilities have an even greater need of good resources? Are you willing to give up a little of your viewing pleasure for their sake? They need your compassion.
