For decades, standard treatment for depression hasn’t changed. Sufferers typically are prescribed antidepressant medication and talk therapy. Period. But at least 30 percent of depression sufferers aren’t helped by standard treatment. Instead, they are left still searching for true and lasting relief.

In Healing Depression for Life, Dr. Gregory Jantz offers a new way forward. Drawing on the innovative whole-person approach that has made his treatment center one of the top 10 depression treatment facilities in the US, Dr. Jantz reveals the treatments, practices, and lifestyle changes that can provide lasting relief from depression—by addressing its chemical, emotional, physical, intellectual, relational, and spiritual causes.

Healing Depression for Life is not only suitable for those with depression, but also those suffering from anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses.

Healing can and does happen individually…but most healing happens within a community. When support groups are established, anxiety and depression are categorized in the same group, because more than half of the people suffering from depression are troubled with anxiety. But categorizing people with bipolar disorder with those with depression should be avoided.

For the past two years, the pandemic has hit the economy hard. The population of those suffering from anxiety has surged, and many people even have signs of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Faced with these issues, we signed a contract to publish Dr. Jantz’s latest book, The Anxiety Reset. As for The Anxiety Reset Workbook, it will depend on the sales of Take Your Life Back Workbook and Healing Depression for Life Workbook. Although Taiwanese readers don't seem to have the habit of buying workbooks, we will try our best to provide the best resources for them. If the readers don't enjoy it, it will be meaningless to put the effort into publishing items that they do not find useful. Please pray for us, that God may greatly use Healing Depression for Life and its workbook to bless those suffering from depression.

Thanksgivings:

1. Jane was invited to do an interview with Li Wenjuan, the host of Good News radio program “Learning to See the Future”, talking about “Healing Depression for Life”. The program was also broadcast on Gogo Radio in Taoyuan.

2. Jane has received an invitation for an exclusive interview with the Happiness Radio Program “Way to Happiness”. The program discusses health issues related to body, mind, and soul from the women’s perspective. Women do suffer from depression at a higher rate than men. We are grateful that the Lord has provided the opportunity to focus on our female friends.

3. Taiwan Presbyterian Church Kaohsiung Central Committee held an on-the-job training “Walk Out of Grief” for pastoral couples on November 1-3. A total of 60 pastoral couples participated. The response was overwhelming on how wonderful the conference was. Some pastors told Jane that they wish they learned the knowledge and skills while studying in seminary.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray that the Lord will make great use of "Take Your Life Back" and the Workbook to help readers get out of the trauma they have suffered in their family and their past experiences.

2. Pray that the Lord will make great use of "For Men Only" and "For Women Only" to bless Chinese marriages and raise their desire to know God.

3. Pray for the Lord to open the way so that "Walk Out of Grief", "Crisis Intervention", "Suicide Prevention" courses will be held in more counties and cities in Taiwan.

4. May Lifting Hands Network have the opportunity to help counties and cities with high suicide rates to halt and change this current trend.
